Temperature Pressure Relief Valve

Temperature Pressure relief valve is a safety valve located on a water heater. This valve is actuated by pressure or temperature. The pressure reacts at 150 PSI and the temperature at 210 degrees.

T&P Value located inside a building shall be provided with a drain, not smaller than the relief valve outlet, of galvanized steel, hard drawn copper piping or CPVC and fittings which will not reduce the internal pipe or tubing size. The interior of the discharge pipe must be of smooth bore not corrugated/flex design.

The discharge line must terminate at the exterior of the building facing downward within 6 to 24 inches from the ground.

The end of the discharge line must not be threaded.
